Name:
Auru Geniven
Nickname:
Ru
Age:
18
Gender:
Male
Pack:
Evergreen
Rank:
Shaman
Breed[optional]:
Normal, just a normal, brown wolf
Personality:
He was not born a coward, that is something that was earned.
Once upon a time, he was a pup filled with life and with joy, a pup who was kind and noble in his actions.
But then came the darkness, and now he is plagued by fear which rattles his mind.
He is followed at every turn by Anxiety snapping at his heels, and he trusts no one.
Allows himself to feel safe around no one.
He wants to, so badly.
For he loves those of his pack.
For at heart, he is still a kind man.
But Anxiety will not allow him that option, and so while he may go from place to place, caring for his packmates as best as he is able, he can hardly bring himself to truly trust them.
To truly feel safe.

Brief History:
Once upon a time, there was a little boy.
This little boy was born to two Loners, who both loved him dearly. He was a happy child, bouncing from flower to flower to bat at the butterflies, but never injuring them. The one time he accidentally quashed a spider beneath his paw was the night he was inconsolable by his family.
He had many friends, although his parents could not see them.
Innocence looked just like him, and was his favorite. The two of them always romped about through the fields together, chasing insects and rolling in the flowers.
Bravery looked like a big him, but with a huge mane and teeth that curled out the side of his mouth! His claws looked like they could break a tree in a single swipe. Bravery was always encouraging him and Innocence to do the things they talked about, encouraging them on their adventures.
Strength was always right behind Bravery, looking like the other but for his smaller teeth and claws, although two black wings sprouted along his back, and he was certainly bulkier than his companion. He was always the one to deal with the practical side of the adventures Bravery encouraged, helping the little ones to clamber of the rocks or trees they wanted to climb with his huge muscles.
Joy was always laughing at their antics, looking like little Auru, but like a woman. Her pelt was a brilliant white instead of muddy brown, and she seemed to sparkle as though her fur was studded with a thousand diamonds. She was always laughing and seemed to be filled with nothing but sheer happiness, she was the funnest part of their adventures.
Peace was always there to make sure Bravery didn't go too far, and Strength frequently helped her calm the fighter of a man down. She looked like joy, but a pale cream in color, with gentle swathes of softer pastels highlighting her form. Auru and Innocence always curled up with her at nighttime.
Nobility was like a grown-up Auru, looking exactly like the little boy would in the future, but for the crown of thorns upon his head. Small rivulets of blood ran down his face, but he seemed unbothered by such things. And if he wasn't, no one else was either. He always told the kids to listen to their hearts, to follow with their conscious told them. He always encouraged them to do what they believed was right.
Determination always supported Nobility, acting a lot like Strength. He had white splotches along his hindquarters, almost like those of a fawn. He always encouraged the children in ways that Strength, Bravery, and Nobility all did as well. You want to do something? Do it! Don't let anyone ever tell you not to follow your hearts desires.
Fear was always getting into fights with Bravery, the two of them never getting along. Bravery frequently tried to push the kids farther than was safe, and Fear, scrawny black man he was, was always the one to have to drag them back into safety. Bravery always got mad at him for that, and Peace was always having to intervene.
But in the end, they were all happy. Auru had his many friends that his parents could not see, and played with them every day. His parents allowed his play, he was only a boy, after all. They were happy.
Until one day, Fear got too fed up with Bravery and his thoughtless actions. The man was never careful, and Fear was convinced he would soon get the children killed!
And so he vowed to become stronger in order to protect the little ones, and called upon the darkness that rested silently within his heart to give him more strength. To allow him to have the power to protect the children.
And shadows danced along the edges of the world, and Fear's form was so obscured in the darkness that he had to craft a new form from the shadows in order to communicate with the others. He gave himself a new name, this monstrous shadow, Anxiety. And he lost himself to the darkness.
The others saw that Anxiety was attempting to take a hold of the children, to bend them to his will so that they would not get hurt. Or so he thought. In truth, he was doing naught but imprisoning them. Perhaps not destroying their bodies as he was trying to prevent Bravery from doing, but destroying their minds.
And so they tried to fight.
Innocence fell first, too weak to fight the encroaching darkness. And Auru's eyes got just that little bit older, that little bit more jaded and tired of the world.
Peace fell next, the woman too gentle to truly fight back. And Auru wasn't quite able to sleep at night anymore, always looking over his shoulder as he walked from place to place.
Then Anxiety's most hated foe, Bravery, was felled in battle. He was all bark and no bite, but it still wasn't enough for Anxiety. And suddenly, Auru didn't really want to go outside that much anymore, to the surprise and worry of his parents. He'd rather just stay inside where it was safe.
Strength fell soon after his companion, for Strength and Bravery were tied together, and when one went down, the other soon followed. And suddenly, Auru didn't have the strength to even really care that he was so miserable now, what did it matter?
And then went Joy. The woman had fought as long as she could, but even as she blinded Anxiety's eyes with her glorious brightness, he soon learned how to squint against the light, and enveloped her in darkness, snuffing her out. And Auru soon lost a reason to even smile anymore, much to the concern of his parents that grew every day.
Nobility, oh heralded Nobility, even he could not withstand Anxiety's might. And soon, the trembling mess that was Auru did not care whether or not his actions were right or wrong anymore, only that they kept him safe and alive.
Soon there was only Determination left, but he knew that he too would soon fall. So to prevent such a thing from happening, he found a mask in the woods, and tied it about his face so that he would not appear to be himself anymore. And Anxiety didn't notice.
In fact, Anxiety liked this newcomer, who went by the name of Stubbornness. The new man seemed to act so much like one the beast of shadows had once known, but he couldn't quite put his claw on it...
Either way, Anxiety didn't care about what had happened to Determination, so long as he was gone. And so Stubbornness breathed a sigh of relief, glad that at least one of them would remain to look after the lost little boy, to keep him free from being totally trapped in Anxiety's grasp. Even if he had to change the way he treated the little one in order to keep him safe...
But soon, that boy forgot about his friends, and that boy became a man. That man left his parents, who still followed the path of their son with their eyes, worried for what the future would bring for him. He wandered the lands, and soon came across others as he crested a twelve and a half years of age.
Anxiety didn't seem to know what to think, both telling Auru to join them and to stay away. And so Auru decided to join, if for the sole reason that he would have easier access to meat amidst a pack. And so the wandering shell of a man found a home, and over time, learned to love those around him.
Anxiety would still never trust them, never. But even the beast of shadows could not completely eradicate the last scraps of Auru's kindness. For that is what he had been, Kindness. And Stubbornness wrapped his claws about them, sinking in firmly to prevent Anxiety from ever taking this last scrap of goodness from the boy and reducing him to naught but a wild beast. Love and Kindness would remain, Stubbornness would see to that, even if Anxiety prevented the man from ever accepting it when it was returned, and always kept him running as he snapped at his heels...

Description:
You'd never notice anything off about this man, not really.
He is slightly smaller than average, but not enough to be called short or scrawny. Sometimes thin, sometimes lithe, but never scrawny.
You don't realize the true extent of his slim form until you take a closer look. From a distance, his long, mud brown fur obscures a lot of his form, making him look bulkier than he truly is. About his neck and chest, this fur grows even longer, giving him almost the appearance of a lion's mane about him.
Dull, copper colored eyes glimmer back out at the world around them from the midst of the brown fur. Perhaps, were he a happier man, they may be brighter, more enthusiastic. But that is not his place in the world, and they are dull for exhaustion and stress.
A black stripe runs down either side of his form as though stroked on from a paintbrush, curving from shoulder to hip, one might even say that they are the basis for where once there were wings, but of course, they are not...
